Diwali Bazaar PDX 2023 | A Celebration of South Asian Culture at Hillsboro Futsal
The Festival of Lights, Diwali, is a time of joy, family, and celebration for millions of people around the world. In Hillsboro, OR, the 2nd Annual Diwali Bazaar PDX 2023 was a testament to the power of community, culture, and togetherness. Curated by Sushmita Podda, a good friend of M&M Marketplace, and hosted at the Hillsboro Futsal, this event was a dynamic showcase of South Asian culture and traditions.
For the second year in a row, the free event was open to the entire community and offered an array of fun experiences that truly captured the true essence of Diwali. One of the major highlights of the Diwali Bazaar PDX was the opportunity to shop for South Asian products provided by local BIPOC vendors. From clothing and jewelry to intricately crafted home décor and candles, the bazaar was a treasure trove of unique items. Shoppers could also find packaged food and handmade handicrafts, each reflecting the rich heritage of South Asian culture.
M&M Marketplace was on hand, offering Mexican food for all of the event attendees. This fusion of fare showcased the inclusive nature of the event, where different cultures came together to celebrate side by side.
The 2nd Annual Diwali Bazaar PDX 2023 was a lively celebration of South Asian culture, brought to life through the hard work and dedication of Sushmita Poddar, WashCo Rising, and M&M Marketplace. The event perfectly embodied the essence of Diwali – a festival that brings people together, regardless of their background, to celebrate light over darkness and good over evil.
The Diwali Bazaar served as a shining example of unity, cultural diversity, and the power of community coming together to celebrate traditions that have been cherished for generations.
