19th Annual Back To School Event at M&M Marketplace

The 19th Annual Back To School Event at M&M Marketplace was a resounding success, bringing joy and support to the local community in Hillsboro as the new school year approached. This annual gathering has become a cherished tradition, and this year’s event was no exception, leaving a lasting impact on families and children alike.
One of the day’s highlights was the distribution of 500 backpacks filled with essential school supplies. The sight of kids receiving these backpacks, each filled with the tools they needed for academic success, was heartwarming and underscored the spirit of generosity that defined the event.
But it was only some serious business at the Back To School Event. In a lighthearted twist, Sgt. Villaraldo from the Hillsboro Police Department volunteered to get dunked in the dunk tank, as well as Coach Marcos from Hillsboro Futsal, much to the amusement of the attendees. An unexpected fun element with a goat petting zoo proved to be a huge hit with the kids. These moments of laughter and play make community events like this truly memorable.
The event also featured a lineup of fantastic performances that captivated the audience. From the Mulan Drum Team and the Dragonfly Yo-yo Team to the fun antics of BJ the Clown and the cultural richness of Huehca Omeyocan, there was something for everyone to enjoy. These talented performers added an extra layer of vibrancy to the event, showcasing the diversity and talent within the Hillsboro community.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this year’s event possible. Their commitment to distributing backpacks, setting up, and cleaning up ensured the event’s smooth operation.
