HILLSBORO, Or. — The 18th Annual Back To School Celebration featured free school supplies, children’s activities, entertainment, food, and more fun. On August 27th from 1-4, children in grades Pre-K – 12 got to stock up on school essentials and have one last hoorah before the first day of school. The Back To School Celebration featured cultural dancers, a variety of local businesses, and a broad range of activities for kids including bounce houses, games and more. Notable vendors include Telemundo Portland, Knipe Realty, El Mercadito Restaurant, and more.

Put on by M&M Marketplace founder Jaime Miranda and team, The Back To School celebration serves to provide school supplies to kids of all ages that reside in Hillsboro and the surrounding communities.

A proper education can change lives, and kids that live in overlooked communities deserve the same opportunities as those given to their counterparts. This year’s event was especially important due to rising costs. With there being a record-breaking increase in the cost of goods and school supplies all over the nation, it was important that families had a place where they could get school supplies without worrying about going over budget or breaking the bank. All supplies at the event were free.

The Back To School Fair wasn’t just a place where families could just pop in, pick up school supplies, then leave, it was a full-fledged community event where everyone got involved and had a ton of fun celebrating with each other. The team at M&M Marketplace thanks their sponsors and everyone that showed up and showed out, and we look forward to the next one.
